Although producer Steven Bochco was forced to trim 15 seconds from a steamy love scene on the Sept. 21 premiere episode of ABC's NYPD Blue after the prominent display of Amy Brenneman's derriere caused a minor uproar among affiliates and conservative TV watchdog organizations, he plans to forge ahead with his plans for more nudity on TV. In the Oct. 26 episode, costar David Caruso's backside will be visible during a locker-room scene. This isn't the first time a male posterior has been showcased on TV. That dubious honor goes to a 1983 locker-room sequence in Bochco's own short-lived series Bay City Blues, which begs the question: Is it possible for a producer to pay homage to himself?
